Hello fellow watch enthusiasts! and thank you for all your comments and interest! I can answer ALL your questions about your watches including many details that you didn't know to ask for! However, we need to use Worthpoint's valuation program for me to even answer your emails. For $19 you get ALL the info available including a valuation for your watch. This is actually a very good deal as valuations at your local jeweler would be considerably more $$ and chances are that they really won't have much info about a dated collectible watch. Keep those comments comming, and DO try our valuation program, you will NOT be dissapointed!! cheers and 73, David M.

In 1980, I was given a Breitling Navitime 806 that was used.
The band, which is silver, documents an aviators history starting with solo in 1947. I am not sure of the watches age; however, I do suspect it is a first generation. Any additional information would be helpfull.

Somehow contradictory:

a) The history of the Breitling Navitimer watch is hard to pin down, as company records have been lost, and company lore does not match up with other facts.

b) Breitling’s well-guarded production papers do show that the so called AOPA was first produced in 1954 with a Valjoux movement.

Cheers,
Chris

"Ollech & Wajs has since become “Sinn” and no longer makes these aviation watches."

Sorry, this is simply not true! Ollech & Wajs/Switzerland and Sinn/Germany have always been separate companies.

Ollech & Wajs is not existing anymore. (vide also http://www.internationalwatchclub.com/aiwajs-watches/ and http://www.chronotime.ch/)

For SINN please check here: http://www.sinn.de/Sinn-Spezialuhren.htm

Best regards,
Chris
