just read about Gale Storm's passing in this article as i swas actually looking up something entirely different and i have to admit i am more upset about her than all the others that are so called "known" stars passing in this 2009 year. i am 65 and watched my little margie each eve with my dad while we ate our tv dinners in our breakfast room next to the kitchen- more memories that no one can take away from me - i did not know all the things you mentioned about gale but she shore made my afternoons happy!
Oh, how I loved "My Little Margie". Yes, I too watched my favorite TV show on our black and white TV in the living room....Remember the antennas outside on the rooftop?

The first (and only) fan letter I ever wrote was to Gale Storm and for my enthusiastic effort; I received a lovely autographed photograph and note, which I treasured for many years. :)

Thank you for the opportunity to reflect and reminisce.

I too remembered Gale Storm and much of her work being 65 these days. I think what I appeciated most about this article was the poignantly way the sentiments were expressed. Very good.

I am one of those that loved Gale Storm. I knew someone who knew her and told me about her alcoholism, I was totally surprised.
I am 66 and when I was a child about 7 I made her a bouquet of violet fiber flowers (remember fiber flowers?) I sent them to her and I got back a great photo and long message. I still have it today. She lived a long life . RIP Gale.

This certainly touched home for me. At 63, I am experiencing the loss of parents, friends, tv and movie stars of my childhood. I have been trying to put a label on what I am feeling and now you have provided it -"each death marks the loss of a part of my past."
Great article!!!
