Sealo was was billed as Sealo the Seal Boy and Sealo the Seal Man. His was real name was Stanislaus "Stanley" Berent. He was born in 1899 with a deformity known as as phocomelia (literally "seal arms"). The banner would have been hung outside the side show tent with a line of other banners which would promote the other attractions in the side show.
