I have a strong feeling that the man in the foreground may be my father. Is there any way to confirm the other members of this photograph?
I believe that was the man that I had written an article on. He was a Wild Weasel pilot stationed in Thailand in ViertNam. After that his was in Germany. He died in a plane crash at in air showin the last 10 years or so. If this sounds like your guy I can dig up his name.
Sorry it took so long to reply, I had never checked the box for and email follow-up – and terrible news about such a tragic end. I’m currently making a wiki article on a family genealogy, and so back digging through old photos that can be verified and cited. Looking at it again, I’m still unsure. It’s the man on the left and facing away that I’m referring to, so it’s difficult, but I’d know the back of my dad’s weird-shaped head anywhere. That’s my gut instinct talking, though, and not the academic in me. He goes by Bill, had since become an attorney in Florida, and his call-sign would have been Cobra due to his having survived a snake bite. Any bells on that one so that it might be usable as a source?
In other words, if there were another man walking around on this Earth with that same look, then God bless him, and I mean this in all sincerity, I hope he’s resting in peace somewhere nice.
