It is hard to say if your clock is authentic without seeing it in person. I thing $3k would be a very good deal even in this soft market. If it is authentic and in a store or at a show, likely it would be sold very quickly. Deals like this don't come around very often and if a knowledgeable dealer or collector spots it, the clock will be out of there before you can say economical astronomical timepiece!

My name is Richard and I run across your article on Astronomical Clocks and very informative and interesting. The reason for my email is that I run across a Clock in a antique store last month and can't seem to get it out of my mind! I love clocks but as always the case I can't afford them. I saw this clock which is a astronomical regulator and has the name Wm Robb on the face of the clock. It appears to stand on the floor like a grandfather clock and has a large single weight and pendulum is typical with brass bobb like other clocks. I guess my questions is if this clock is authenicate as I can't seem to find any thing on the internet about a wm Robb making such a clock? Price for clock was $3,000. Any information you can provide me would be sincerely apprecaiated.

Thank you, richard
