Hi

I've got a rare Valentino retired beanie bay it's in mint co diction with both tags attached in clear plastic sealed containers, all I stored tis way, I've got others like Diana hope peachy neon teddy, Santa rare beanie, but what's it should I sell my Valentino for. It's a number 110 on the push tag, of pe pellets, and they range in price, and can't seem to find a collector or dealer in the inland empire.
Thanks

I was working as a sales rep for a company that competed with Ty in the gift and collectibles market. Because of all the money that my retailers generated due to Beanie Babies sales, I made a killing selling my lines. Also the "collectible mentality" was in rare form during this time. What I sold was also highly collectible. It was a fun time to be a sales rep in that industry....nowadays...not so much!

I now know way, way too much about worthless little animals. I never did like these and I too agreed with Harry. There are a bunch of things that are going to tank and most of them are modern toys. Harry says"once the people that want a piece of their youth pass on or lose interest, the value drops and it sure did. I told several people they would be able to buy a ton of them for cheap as time goes on and now by the tub full. Fads are just that, and poor investments, try tax free muni's or some other known revenue producer and stop speculating on a mass produced product!

I'm with Mr Rinker with this subject, I have a neighbor who invested in Beanie's and cabbage patch scary babies, she spent thousands of dollar for them, she thought she was going to make a killing. She bought them when everyone had them. Now she has an attic full of stuff that no one wants! Just another worthless Fad, so sad, if only they gave it a little thought, but they are caught up in the frenzy of it all. Many years ago I asked my young son what he would collect, he say Mom, buy items no one else wants, or throw away items. He has done very well thirty years later with this theory, not bad for a ten year old.
