Hi Glenn,

I did come across an image online of a vintage child's Tonto costume very much like the one you've described and it does in fact come with brown pants (with yellow fringe) as well as a headdress piece. Unfortunately, I could not locate a value for it.

However, there were a few other Tonto Halloween/dress up outfits released throughout the years, and judging by a couple that date from around the 1950s (such as one produced by the Esquire Novelty Co.), it appears that costumes in good, complete condition may sell for around $120 or so. Mint boxed ones would likely be worth a fair bit more.

Perhaps a search in the Worthopedia may yield a value for your particular item.

Take care.

I have a Tonto kids shirt in perfect condition. It probably had pants to the outfit. Looks to be around the 1930s or so. Brown, with yellow fringes, two red buttons in the back, with a large display of Tonto and other indians on the front.

Any idea how much this may be worth to a collector of Tonto items?

Hi Jimmy,

My apologies for the delay in responding. Unfortunately, coins are not my speciality. I did take a look online and although I was unable to locate a value for your Lone Ranger 50th Anniversary silver coin, I was able to find a current eBay auction for a silver coin of the character:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/LONE-RANGER-1-Troy-Ounce-of-999-Silver-Round-/390486752678?pt=Bullion_US&hash=item5aead2fda6

As I'm unsure when this was minted, I took note of the values of a couple of other 50th anniversary coins for the characters of Superman and Batman. The value on those coins ranged from approximately $60 to $100 each. So it would be reasonable to assume that the Lone Ranger coin would be worth at least this amount, if not more.

Hope this helps. And be sure to keep an eye on the auction. Take care.

Hi Judy,

Thank you for reading my post. I do believe I know which coloring book you are referring to. It was published in 1959 and in addition to the pictures, also contains puzzles, connect-the-dots images and quizzes to complete, correct?

If so, this book usually sells for between $5 and $15. Of course, if it is in mint condition (meaning it has not been used or colored in, and the cover is not torn, creased or written on), it may fetch more.

As for selling your book, I would recommend perhaps listing it on eBay. Be sure to take several photos of the front and back cover and inside contents, list the publisher and year it was printed and describe any flaws it may have (if any).

Good luck!

Hi Hank,

Yes, it is true that a new "Lone Ranger" film is being made. In fact, it is being filmed right now. Johnny Depp is playing Tonto and an up-and-coming actor Armie Hammer is playing the Ranger.

If you Google the actors names, you'll see a publicity photo of the pair in costume.

Don't know if it's true, but I just read they actually are making a movies based on the Lone Ranger. Johnny Depp is set to play Tonto, but is getting some flack about the subtle racism involved. People and their opinions...

Hi Nancy,

Well, unfortunately, I'm not familiar with that particular piece you are inquiring about. Would it happen to be this item:

http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-1938-lone-ranger-coffee-cup-151925727

If so, I invite you to check the WorthPoint Worthopedia for more info about the piece, including its potential value. If that is not the mug you're referring to, a search in the Worthopedia may still come up with a result and value for it, as well as for any other Lone Ranger collectibles you may be wondering about.

Thank you very much. Take care.

I have a Lone Ranger mug that was my fathers. He was from Pennsylvania & was born in 1919. I imagine this mug was from the mid 1920's. It is milk glass with the Lone Ranger on his horse with the name. Would like to know it's value.

IF DISNEY MAKES A MOVIE THAT STARS TONTO AS THE HERO AND THE LONE RANGER AS AN IDIOT, I WOULD RATHER WAIT FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO MAKE THE MOVIE. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A FILM THAT WOULD DO BOTH CHARACTERS JUSTICE AND ONE THAT WOULD MAKE TRENDLE AND STRIKER PROUD.
