Howdy! I live in the DC area too! I also visit a number of sales around the Maryland area. My Favorites are the Women's Board of Montgomery General Hospital Bazaar, in the summer, where they have a an entire table piled high with jewelry! Tomorrow, the St Peter's Catholic Church, around the corner from me, is having their annual Estate and Yardsale. It's indoors thank goodness! Last year I bought so much from them, one of the memorable pieces was a pair of Val St Lambert Crystal candle holders, without a scratch on them, for a $1!.

The greatest sale I ever have gone to is held every year at the Unitarian Church in Bethesda, on Whittier and River Rd, on the first Saturday after Thanksgiving. I get in line by 5:30 am there, no matter what the weather is, and I meet some friends from around the area while we chat for a few hours in line. This is one of the biggest sales I've ever been to..Found a nice Jehovah's Witness antique book and sold it on ebay..it was another "find" since all the years I've been going there, one year I found a Miriam Haskell triple strand pearl necklace for $1 as well...

That sale takes me all day to get through the floors and rooms that are jam packed..I end up eating lunch there, then continue on through all the designer clothing for myself!LOL! It's a whole day of dragging bags all over the building, and being dead tired at the end of the day, but what fun!

A penny saved, is a penny earned..(another one of pop-pop's proverbs)
