Yes, please send me a photo of both sides. I can tell you its condition relative to others its age and how much someone might want to pay for it. There are several collectors both in North America and in Europe.

January 12, 2010
I have a beaded purse I wish to sell.
It is very similar to the "ribbon handle and bead fringe" photo above. I have a note with it that reads, "This bag came from Canada given to my mother when she was a small girl, by her uncle, Willard Crane. She was born in 1847."
This was written by my great-grandmother. Her daughter (my grandmother) was born in 1898.
Is there a venue besides eBay where I should post this? Are you interested in buying it yourself? I will send photos, if requested.

The metal clasps are rare but appear to be on purses of varying ages. The question is whether a metal clasp was part of the original purse or was added later. That is a question that has never been investigated.
Thanks for the question. You have inspired me to try to find an answer.

The Iroquois beaded purses with the metal clasps are new to me. Do the appear to be more recent than the others?
