THANK YOU HARRY!!! I have been working in the art and antiques field now for the past 5 years. When we are asked "What do you specialize in?" my answer is always entertainment. Dealers and show promoters fail to see the importance of INVITING someone into their business. Get to know your customers. Let them become a part of your antiquing family. Encourage customers to ask questions, hang out, touch things, relax, decompress from a busy show, and tell their friends about your business. Shoppers would much rather buy from a friend than a stranger who won't give them the time of day. Sandy Alderfer and the staff at the Alderfer Auction Company are experts in customer service. Their customer care, personal touches, and honesty make them the best auction house I have ever been to. There are thousands of marketing techniques that can be used to promote sales and keep existing customers. There are rows after rows of books at the local book store on this topic (Jack Mitchell's "Hug Your Customers" is my personal favorite). THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR A LACK OF CREATIVITY! WAKE UP DEALERS / SHOW PROMOTERS!!! Harry, you hit the nail on the head! I graciously invite you to any show or flea market that we do. You get it!
With Warmest Personal Regards,
Hippie Jim
