I picked up the original 80 issue Transformers series on CD many years back. I am still trying to complete my paper version collection, but this at least let me read the series start to finish.
I have also seen the digital comics Marvel was showing off at the Comic-Con.
It is nice to be able to read an issue without having to worry about spilling your Diet Mr. Pibb all over it (Comic Book guy is the greatest), but it is simply a suppliment to the industry and will never replace paper issues. Too many people buy the comics to collect (whether they read them or not) and a large portion will stop fueling money into Marvel's pockets if they had no investment opportunity in it.
My overall problem with getting a digital comics is that I would still have to buy the paper issue... Why should I have to buy both? It also seems very impossible to get the digital copy free with purchase of the paper copy without bagging each and every single paper copy each month that includes an online code in it, so I cant see investing money into digital comics.
