Upon our fields of corn and grain, Made ripe by earth and wind and rain, the same sun shines that made them glad Each pilgrim lass and lad.
Long, long ago the pilgrims bent, their heads to thank the God who sent, the harvest ripened by the sun, the evening rest when day was done
And they who bowed their heads above, the feast made fair by work and love, passed on to us the grace to give, our thanks to Him who made us live.
And WorthPoint thanks Charles and Phyllis J. Wille for allowing us to reprint this lovely Thanksgiving song from the 1929 Music Hour Second Book that can be found on GoAntiques.

So many of us have so many reasons to be thankful this year, big and small.
A new addition to your family.
A clean bill of health from the doctor.
Making, new interesting friends.
Beating the kid at a video game.
Finally reading “War and Peace.”
NOT being audited by the IRS.
Seeing your son graduate from college.
Walking your daughter down the aisle.
Raising a toast to your parents at their 50th wedding anniversary party.
