The value of old books can vary based on many, many factors. Unfortunately, your book may not have a high value just because it is old – or even because it is a famous title. The following guidelines for 19th and 20th century books are just a few areas that may help explain valuation.

I am looking for someone who can help me price out some old antique books. Here’s a list of 5:

Larkin and Hubbard: From Soap to Antiques and Collectibles (8/11/08)
Ever since three nine- and ten-year-old chums and I (unbeknown to our parents, of course) ventured to walk the four or five miles through terra-incognita streets to Boston‘s Museum of Fine Arts, guided only by a Gulf Oil Co. street map, I was smitten by the antiquities, travel and collectibles “bug,” seeking the unusual.

Dutch Bible 1681 (7/24/08)
I have recently come to own a Dutch bible which I believe could have some value, and I would be keen to know if anyone has any suggestions of where I can get it valued, particularly if it is worth my while insuring it. It is 10×16 inches, 6 inches thick, complete with original cover, pages, maps and images and was restored from a bundle of papers so the spine is not original.
