Dinner in Camelot
The date was June 20, 1959. John F. Kennedy, then a United States senator from Massachusetts, was campaigning across the country for the 1960 Democratic nomination for president. Campaigning with him was his wife, Jacqueline.
Immigration, learning from our antiques
As the founder of WorthPoint, I have been asked countless times what I collect. I think it is a funny question, as I have learned that a collector’s attention span is usually measured in a 5-6 year time span. I am typical in that respect, as, what I collect changes every 5-6 years. The problem is that I keep what I collected, thus, I have many collections that I am not active in.
MY 3 OLD PHOTOS/PORTRIATS OF JEAN HARLOWE
I HAVE 3 VERY OLD PORTRIATS OF JEAN HARLOWE WHICH WERE GIVEN TO MY GREAT-GRANDMOTHER BY JEAN HERSELF WHEN SHE WAS A MAID FOR JEAN, MANY, MANY YEARS AGO. tHEY HAVE SINCE BEEN PASSED DOWN TO MY GRANDMOTHER, MOTHER, AND MYSELF. I WOULD NOW LIKE TO SELL THEM BUT NEED TO FIND OUT WHAT THEY ARE ACTUALLY WORTH. THEY ARE ALL 8X10 IN SIZE, AND IN GOOD CONDITION.
Have some original photos of Marilyn Monroe
Trying to find out if pictures of Marilyn Monroe in Korea for the USO show are vauable. I have her arriving on the helicopter and walking to the changing room also standing on the stage.(it is a series) I was told they were taken by a soldier that was serving at that time.
Every Mother Has One
Nearly every mother has one – the box filled with grade-school artwork, Boy Scout merit badges and years of Mother’ s Day cards. Whether homemade creations with crayon and construction paper or store-bought sentiments, Mother’s Day cards are simply too tough for most moms to toss, and many mothers hold on to cards for decades.
What We Collect
I’ve been collecting antique and vintage cartoons since I was a teenager in the 1940s – with the Good Lord’s help, I will reach 81 years at end of May!
In my collection I now have about a dozen examples of early cartoons from England and the United States, as well as some modern ones. (I also have a small collection of Persian and Indian miniatures from 19th century manuscripts.)
