This is a breathtaking, swirling caramel slag glass 8 paneled table lamp with a decorative metal overlay of floral and filigree designs. A unique and beautiful feature on this particular lamp is the lighted base that this early 1900's circa lamp has. The base of the lamp is decorated with cameos, floral designs, and fleurs de lis. The key to identifying "true" slag is to look for obviously and richly marbled glass. This lamp is a beautiful example of the early twentieth century Art Noveau slag glass lamps, especially since it has a perfectly functioning, pristine lighted slag glass base. This lamp stands proudly at 22" high. The diameter of the shade is 16” and 12” deep. Circumference of shade is 56”, and 20” at widest part of base. A strong and well-proportioned 4-panel base that is 21” tall and 7” in diameter at the bottom supports the lamp. Pull chains, stamped PAT 9.11, are 8” long. The lamp is in perfect working condition with the original wiring. It casts a wonderful soft glow when lit. The top two circuits have pull chains, and a turn switch on the base at the bottom for the base light. The top is in excellent condition. All glass is intact with no chips, cracks or repairs noted. The base is in excellent condition. No maker's mark found. However, it is definitely an original, antique slag glass lamp and made by a quality company. This is an exceptionally beautiful antique. It is a wonderful example of early twentieth century lighting. I will charge exact shipping cost only, no handling charges.
