As the palace clock strikes midnight, Cinderella dashes from the Royal Ball, all too aware that her Fairy Godmother's magic spell will soon be broken. The lovely maiden pauses only long enough on the palace steps to realize she has lost her glass slipper -- the very slipper her Prince Charming will use to find his elusive princess.
This limited-edition sericel is inspired by Sequence 4.1, Scene 73 from Walt Disney's ''Cinderella.'' Such legendary Disney artists as John Hench, Claude Coats and Mary Blair designed the storybook setting, including the sweeping staircase of Prince Charming's palace. Only Disney animation could capture the enchantment and emotion of this central scene involving the iconic glass slipper, the romantic castle and Cinderella herself.
This character image was created using the fine art screen-printing process of color reproduction known as serigraphy. Artists at the Walt Disney Studios Ink & Paint Department specially created a hand-inked, hand-painted animation cell which was used as reference in the production of these sericels. Sixteen colors were used to recreate the color image, each of which has been exactingly screen-printed, one color at a time, onto the acetate cell.
The result is a sericel portrait of the loveliest of fairy tale princesses in her most famous moment from one of Walt Disney's favorite films. As a special addition, each mat is enhanced with a printed remarque of Cinderella's magical glass slipper. USA. Certificate of Authenticity. Limited Edition of 2000.
