1960s Asian Coffee table
1960s intricately carved Asian coffee table. A true work of art, the surface of the coffee table renders a story of a great battle with warriors on all sides. Perhaps this has a fairly dark subject matter but it just zings with beauty nonetheless. The detail is amazing and my guess is that this work was done in Asia, I am thinking China specifically but it could have been done in another Asian country.
I was told that this table could be converted into a plaque (with glass & legs removed) but I have not taken it apart to verify. Tapered legs can be adjusted to an alternate placement. The glass sits within the lip of the table and can be easily be removed. The glass does suffer some wear with surface scratches but there are no cracks, or breaks. I took the glass off to take photos so there would be no glare.
The wooden portion of the table has some minuscule surface wear, I see two nicks by the edges but otherwise, it looks pretty great given it's age. The carving (and this is the exciting part), looks FABULOUS! I see no breaks or repairs on the actual carving of the soldiers, ornamentation or trees. If I've missed anything, I can say it would not detract in any way.

15" high x 40" wide x 20" depth.
