Vintage signed 1986 TEXAS Sesquicentennial MAP Original CARTOON CARTOGRAPH Rare poster! Copyright 1985 (27 years old) and signed by the artist. Official commemorative product of the Texas 1986 Sesquicentennial (1836-1986).
A large map measuring 38" x 30". A very hard to find poster due to the incredible detail and scenes.
Printed on thicker paper stock and stored since purchased. Poster will come rolled.

About the Artist:
Sue C. Hughey
Sue C. (Strange) Hughey was born in Oklahoma and reared in Kansas. She was a Liberal Arts major at Wichita University, where her father was an art professor. Her mother was a poet and an elementary school teacher in Wichita. After moving to Colorado with her husband Harold and two young sons, Sue worked for several Denver-area art studios and printing companies as a freelance artist and copywriter. She later opened her own graphic arts studio, which evolved into a mapping business, drafting maps for various U.S. Governmental agencies. During this time, Sue contracted with the Environmental Protection Agency to write and illustrate a booklet about the environment, which was distributed to over 60 million school children in the United States. Canada was granted permission to also print and distribute the booklet in that country. Sue also wrote and illustrated a series of educational "map posters," which had a large school market. The coin she designed for Colorado's Centennial, through an act of congress, became the first commemorative medallion ever minted in a U.S. mint (in Denver). She also designed Colorado's commemorative Bicentennial coin, produced by the Franklin Mint. Now retired and living in western Colorado, Sue devotes her time to her first love, writing and illustrating. Sue's most recent book for an adult audience is title A Nest Egg Poached.

Music box
Music box, inlaid wooden case, plays 8 tunes, working condition, crack in lid, 22 1/2' wide, 11" deep, 9" high.
Just in time for Christmas for that special someone! Exquisite fine quality Reuge music box. The tone quality and resonance is truly magnificent as expected by this fine tuned precision made pinned cylinder mechanism. The cylinder movement is housed in a gorgeous inlaid wood case.
This cylinder mechanism is SUPERB and in PRISTINE like new condition. You will be able to listen to eight different Waltzes of old Vienna. Each cylinder plays two different waltz tunes.
This is truly a magnificent music box. The lid is hinged at the back with a clear mirrored panel on the inside of the lid so you can watch this music box work. The movement is covered by a hinged framed glass dust cover. The movement is key wound at the top of the box.
