Embroidered Peacock Quilt - 1920's
A 1920's beautiful hand embroidered and hand quilted peacock quilt. This quilt measures 72" x 84" and is in very good condition. It has excellent hand quilting with 14-16 stitches per inch. The fabric for the front and back is 100% cotton muslin and it has a cotton batting. The hand embroidery is excellent with no wear or damage. The quilt does have a section in the lower right hand corner that has a slight shadow stain. We believe that this is from being folded and stored in a cedar chest where the quilt was in contact with the wood and some of the wood oils created a slight stain along the exposed and contacted areas as seen in picture #6. This is Item #0801123 on our GoAntique web Pages at:

Red Star Quilt - 1880's
This is a very old 1880's star quilt. It is red and white and the white pieces are made up of two different patterns. They are white with very tiny feathers or circles and balls, both in black. The back fabric is red with very small white anchors. It is hand pieced and hand quilted with 14 to 16 stitches per inch. The batting is cotton. Overall it is in good condition for its age. There are 3 red triangles at one end that have some deterioration to the fabric (see pic #4).These pieces of fabric appear to be a silk and cotton blend that was used when they ran out of the original 100% cotton red fabric and this was substituted since it matched the red color. Over age the silk has started to shatter. This is Item #0203036A on our GoAntiques web pages at:

Double Wedding Ring Quilt
A fantastic Double Wedding Ring quilt made of 1930's fabrics and finished in 1944. The pieces are 1.5" in size and it is completely hand pieced and hand quilted. The quilting is extremely good at 12-14 stitches per inch. It is made from 100% cotton fabrics and has a cotton batting. The backing fabric is the same muslin fabric. It is in mint condition. It has never been used or washed as the pencil lines for the quilting are still visible. It does have a few very small starch stains in the fabric as shown in pictures #7 & 8. There was a great deal of thought and planning in making this quilt as the fabrics with a picture area on them were cut so that the picture or object is centered in the small 1.5" pieces. It is Item #31011360 on our GoAntiques web pages at:

This is a marvelous civil war era quilt that has survived in this remarkable condition with only very minor damage to the backing fabric.
