Description: I have what looks like an old piece of pottery. The bottom of the monkey says 'oaxaca mexico' as well as the bottom of the plate. the monkey stands 10" in height. The monkey and the plate come as a set. The monkey is blue and white painted but it appears to have a human like face with a mustache. The bottom of the monkey has a black marking which I believe to be "black clay" from oaxaca mexico which was painted white and blue. The plate has a few tiny chips on the edge but that's it. I just noticed they were there as I was inspecting it. Otherwise, excellent condition. See photos. Any questions, please ask first. It appears to be pretty old. I have found similar ones dated 1930's-1940's. The monkey is holding his own little decanter and cup. This was probabably used for Mezcal.
