Up for bidding an ULTRA RARE Ripley Marriage Lamp WITH ITS ORIGINAL MATCH COVER! This rare oil lamp has two "clambroth" colored fonts over its Atterbury Blue base! It has its original QUEEN ANNE BURNERS(so marked) and its "pie crust" glass chimneys. Daniel Ripleys most distinctive lamp was know as the "Marriage" or "Wedding Lamp". Ripley received three patents for this lamp: Feb. 1, 1870, June 14, 1870 and Sept. 20, 1870. The Wedding Lamp had two fonts on a single base. They were made in clear glass, white, blue or green opaline, or in combinations. THIS LAMP CARRIES THE DANIEL RIPLEY PATENT PENDING MARK! **AGAIN THIS LAMP HAS ITS ORIGINAL MATCH COVER. YOU NEVER SEE THIS WITH A MARRIAGE LAMP.** Condition is as follows: "LITTLE STAR IN A FONT. CAN NOT FEEL IT, MATCH COVER HAS A CHIP IN LIP,CAN NOT SEE IT WHEN IN PLACE” This is a FINE example of an ULTRA RARE Lamp WITH its match cover!
