A unique set of 12 sterling silver (800)/gold plated Jezler demitasse spoons. Jezler is a Swiss silversmith from Schaffhausen, Switzerland. They have a floral (orchid) pattern of 2 flowers on the front and the back of the spoon shows the back of the flower. As you look at the spoon from the handle toward the tip of the spoon, there are also two embossed bands around the handle. I suspect this set is dated 1920 or earlier. The spoons sit in a lovely, creamy mint green crushed velvet lined box, the lid lined with mint green satin, and stamped with "GIEL FRERES/GENEVE". The spoon itself is gold plated over sterling while the handle is sterling. The spoons are exceptionally fine 800 silver and feature crisp, well defined detail. The box may be made of wood, covered with black laminate. There are some spots on the box that show wear but the spoons are perfect. The box is hinged. One clasp is missing but the box still closes tightly and securely. Each spoon is 4 1/4" in length, while the bowl of the spoon is 7/8" wide and 1 1/2" long. The black case is 11" in length, 6" in width, and 1 1/2" in height. The hallmarks are also well defined and indicative of the period of production indicated.
