ANTIQUE ZSOLNAY PECS RETICULATED FLORAL VASE FORM# 1064 (1882-1885) A GORGEOUS, reticulated, hand-painted floral vase by Zsolnay of Pecs, Hungary. This hand-painted floral vase is skillfully decorated in an intricate pattern of maroon, pink, yellow, darj green, and blue underglaze which has been highlighted in gold detailing. The neck of this vase is made from reticulated porcelain that was underglazed in pink with gold inside the lattice work. Both the interior and the exterior were overlaid with a clear glossy glaze. This vase measures 4" in height, by 4 1/2" in width and weighs 13 ounces. The bottom of this rare piece is recessed and glazed, and stamped in blue with the Zsolnay pottery mark, "ZSOLNAY PECS" followed by the company's "5 Tower" symbol and a loop containing initials. The base is also impressed with the number "1064" indicating the form which was used between 1882 -1885. The bottom is also impressed with the number "00" which is a decorator's mark. This vase is in excellent condition for its age, but it does have moderate crazing overall and a chip on the top edge of the rim. These are normal in ceramics of this age and could be easily restored if wanted. There are no real cracks (which is rare in pieces of this vintage), or repairs of any kind. The original box is not included, but the item will be carefully packed for shipping. This is from a smoke-free and pet-free environment. This rare antique vase is an incredible find for any collector and is no longer in production.
