Growing up, I read and held onto the following comics:
1. The Nam'
2. SGT Rock
3. GI JOE
4. TNMT
5. Cerebus
6. Albedo
7. GI Combat
8. Groo
I took good care of my books and still have them in archival sleeves. Are any of these titles desirable to collectors today?
Thanks.
---Chris
Maybe, just maybe... by Matt Baum
Most of the titles you have listed are not exactly comics collector's gold, to put it nicely. However, there is one issue of Albedo, #2 from 1984, that has the first appearance of a Samurai Rabbit named Usagi Yojimbo. In near-mint condition this comic books at close to $500.00 dollars. Now, keep in mind there were several reprints of this book that are virtually worthless, only the 1st print from Thoughts and Images c.1984 is worth any money. So do you have Albedo #2? If so I need to see it immediately!
As far as the other books you listed, there are some issues of G.I. Joe that are worth more than you would think. Towards the end of G.I. Joe’s Marvel Comics run, in the early 90’s, the print runs were slashed due to the failing popularity of the book. The relatively low print runs, especially on the last 11 issues (144-155) make these books very difficult to find and relatively high-priced compared to most other marvel comics of the time. The final issue of G.I. Joe is currently booking at $50 in near-mint condition, which is down from the $80 it was booking at a few years ago.

Thank you for your response. Although I do not have Albedo #2, I am familiar with the issue you speak of. I am certain I stopped collecting GI Joe long before the last 11 issues.

I have a question about a book which is said to be the 1st edition of the works of William Davenant 1673. I was trying to get a price on it, also I have some coins inherited and I was trying to get a price on a few of them which I saw in a old book that the 6 dimes my friend has are worth some where inbetween $2000-$4000 each. There is a confederate coin which is from the 1700s which has the number 1000 in the middle of it which I have yet to see it in a coin book. I will have to take pictures of it. 2 Renwa paintings of two nude ladies which are not copies. She has a picasso and not a copy either. Her grandfather was a World War II vet which he was a prisoner of war taken by the Germans. He has all types of things which me and her were sorting out alot of the antique items she inherited from him too. Even a very old unopened bottle of Grand Marye which it has a string on it which if you opened it you would have to pull the string. She is sitting on a gold mine with to much to list on here but I know she will be selling alot of it soon like the book I have listed on my webpage, she is about to sell it and I am getting prices presently. She has areas in her house that has crawl spaces which have alot of old anique items, antique everything 2 grandfather clocks which one has a gold ticker, 8 oriental rugs from the 1800s and more. I kid you not and she will be selling alot of it soon which she inherited it from her grandma. If you can answer my question concerning the book it would be well appreciated.

Antique hand-made chess men and storage box by JWoolard
I wonder if you might be able to help me with the value of an item I have. Years ago, I purchased wooden, hand-made chess pieces and a hand-made storage box that, I was told, was made during the Civil War era. I also have the original rules book, Beadle's 'Chess Instructor'. There is a date in the book of 1840. Can you help me with a value, or can you direct me somewhere I may search for it?
Thank you.

Re Beatles autographs by Colonistnz60
Hi there Kacey. I realise this is sometime ago posted here but on the UK Antiques Road Show I have seen Beatles autographs selling up to and more access of 2000 pounds which is close to $6000NZ so must be in the region of $3000 US.Depends also on exchange rates and the day for selling.
It might pay to to have a look at that Uk Antiques Road Show and just check it out..there are plenty of Beatle memoribilla collectors about still.

The American Star Speaker, First Edition 1902 by guywitholdbooks
I have no idea what this book is worth. It really looks pretty good for being 106 years old! It was my grand parents book. It has a little wear, and the pages are kind of yellow, but it is all together and bound. The complete info on it is:
The American Star Speaker and Model Elocutionist

Any ideas out there what it might be worth and where I could sell it?
thanks for your help
The American Star Speaker and Model Elocutionist by Mike Wilcox
A book's age is only part of the picture in regards to value, like most things demand for an item is the largest driver of value. Your book, though over 100 years old, still exists in
substantial numbers, we have copies of it in good condition listing at Antiquarian Booksellers in the $10.00- $25.00 range. The majority sell for less than $15.00
to polish or not to polish floor lamp by Mike Wilcox
Most floor lamps have either a painted or plated finish over base metals such as cast iron or spelter. It's not a good idea to polish them unless you can determine what type of finish has been used. To clean them, a simple cleaner such a mild dish detergent followed by a wipe down with clean water is the way to go. Just remember to unplug the lamp before attempting to clean it ;~)))and wipe the lamp dry after rinsing it. Sometimes after cleaning a "buff up" with a soft cloth will bring up a bit of shine.
