Antique Catalina Items
I have a two authentic antique Catalina items that I am considering parting with. Namely, a parrot tile plaque (6 tiles), and a large 'fish" plate. Both are in really excellent condition.
A few dealers have seen these, and after catching their breath, have offered me $1500.00 or so for both. I think that is a pretty low price even on the wholesale market.
What would be the best venue to offer these pieces for sale? I have always done pretty well on Ebay but it seems to be really loaded up with contemporary "Catalina" items.
Thanks in advance.

Any collector can tell new Catalina from old given enough photos. The preponderance of new has no relation to the price of old original pieces on ebay. However, the prices Catalina bring today are not what they were a few years ago, no matter where they are sold.

Based on current auction values from Specialist Auction houses, the amount offered was below wholesale, even in today's market. The Parrot tiles are extremely collectible and are not the run of the mill production pieces one finds general auction sales. I would suggest contacting Maggie.turnipseed@WorthPoint.com
