Need Help with Old Perugia Bookends

My grandmother owned "The Colonial GIft Shop" in Chester, PA in the 40's/50's. She collected lots of decorative art pieces and I believe these were hers. I have probably had them for 30 or 40 years. THey are in excellent shape with a few tiny chips you can see in the pictures.

I'm wondering if anyone can identify when they were made, more about them and what they might be worth.

Perugia is a town in central Italy. Your whimsical bookends are a form of pottery called faience . Faience is a tin glazed pottery, and it does chip easily . The bookends date from around 1940- 1950.
