Help with Asian Dragon Handled Ewer; Real or repro?

    Hi,

I found this Dragon Handled Ewer in a thrift store. It looks Tang or possibly Hunan but it also feels like it might just be a recent reproduction or ceramics 101 based on the seams on the sides. Specifically there is a "seam" under the handle and another on the opposite side. I could only post 5 pics so only the seam under the handle is pictured but the other one looks the same. It is approximately 8" high and has black drip glaze and an applied medallion which appears to show 4 vertical characters flanked by dragons. Any insight would be appreciated!

    Thank you,

    John

    Hello,
I can't really see a seam in the photos. The clay itself doesn't look right to me. It looks much newer than even an early 20th. century piece. The other point I might comment on is the glaze. It doesn't have the quality one expects from early, wood or coal fired ceramics.
    My vote. Modern.
