Audubon prints real or not?
We have 4 prints framed in various sizes. They came from our family estate. Appear to be real and hand colored and names check out. Without undoing frame is there any way to tell if they are indeed real. Mostly squirrels. Thanks for any help.

You'd really have to take them out of the frame and have them physically examined. The Audubon prints have been reproduced several times, some of them very convincingly. There is the original Havell editions date 1827-38 and the Bien Edition, 1858-1860. Here's a link as to what to look for: Original Audubon Prints
