old oil painting

I have an old painting on canvas of a lady in a brown dress in a pasture carrying a clay pot on her hip and a small basket in her other hand. It is unsigned. The back of the canvas has stencil novelty co on it. Anyone know this painting?

It's impossible for anyone to really provide any helpful information without an image of your painting. Generally oil paintings really have to be physically inspected to determine vintage, Artist and authenticity. With a marking though from a Novelty Company, you are usually dealing with "Decorator Art" which is sold in Department stores and Decorator outlets. If you want to post some images I'd be happy to have a second look .
