Found a Bavarian WWI Ersatz leatherSpiked Helmet pre 1900 i
While cleaning out my Mother's house I found what I so far have discovered online is a Bavarian WWI Ersatz Leather Spiked Helmet. But I cannot find one exactly like it online. Most are hard helmets or felt. This one is leather with brass front plate and spike. Also the front plate is close to some I have seen but nothing exactly like it. Really has me mind boggled and I am trying to find out the value. If anybody has an idea or can direct me to a source to find it please let me know. I have already spent hours on this thing. Thanks. Mat, can you post large, detailed photos of the front part of the helmet, showing as much detail as possible?
