Brass? Hermes Pocket Knift

I recently acquired what I believe to be a brass pocket knife with the name "Hermes" centered on the handle. Can anyone give me the history of this item. I believe it may be a promotional item but cannot confirm this. I doubt that it is related to the Paris company "Hermes". I would greatly appreciate any help with the history as I am giving the knife as a gift.

There is a Hermes pocket knife in the Worthopedia. Does yours by chance look anything like this?
