Selling Memorabilia of High-Flying Women
Nearly 10 percent of the 47 American women who have flown in space have died in the process, including four of the crew members on doomed space shuttles. As a result, artifacts from female astronauts, dead and living, bring fairly high prices at auction because of their rarity.
