Finding value of beer stein?

How do I figure out the value of a beer stein?

This one is hand painted, made in Germany, has a pewter top, is presumable brand new and has a pewter top.

Problem is that I have come to find out that these can range from worthless into the hundreds of dollars.

Is there something special I need to look for in order to find the value?

From looking at the marking I can tell that your stein was made by King-Works (King-Werk) of Germany. Their Website has a wealth of information on the production of these beautiful beer steins.

SteinCenter.com lists a large number of steins by manufacturer and you might be able to locate one like yours there. Good luck!

Also check out the Worthopedia and look for comps; I saw items that seem to appear like yours selling in the approximately $20-100 range, but you need to check it out and compare them to what you actually own.
