Antique rocking chair
Can anyone give me any information about this style of rocking chair? My mom bought it at an antique or auction sale and I know she had the seat recovered but I can't seem to find another one similar anywhere. Would like to know who may have made it (there are no markings that I can see) and how old it may be. Everything is very solid and looks beautiful.
Thanks for any help.Last edited by clockman; 08-06-2011 at 07:27 PM. Reason: adding more pictures

Would it be possible for you to post additional photos so we can see the top of the chair?

Your Rocking chair is referred to as "stick and ball' describing the back design. The original seat of the chair was more than likely a cane seat. It dates from around 1880. American. It is a beautiful little rocker.
