WorthPoint Web Site Notches Two Million Page Views

by acenh (02/20/08).

RESTON, VA, February 19, 2008 — (BUSINESS WIRE) — WorthPoint Corporation scored another important gain this week when its new Web site (www.worthpoint.com) recorded its two millionth page view.

WorthPoint Founder and CEO Will Seippel said that traffic on the company’s site continues to exceed projections and noted that while it took the company three months to reach one million page views, the second million came just three weeks later.

“People are showing an enormous interest in the information we’re providing about the value of their possessions; we’re the place they come to to learn more about the objects they own,” Seippel said.

Seippel, a passionate collector of Americana and a former top technology company executive, created WorthPoint to enable people around the world to learn about the history and value of the things they own or want to own.

The site’s “Worthopedia” boasts almost two million data points of historical and current prices, photographs and descriptions of art, antiques and collectibles from more than 250 auction houses.

“Thousands of new data points are being added every day, the number of our auction houses partners continues to grow, we’re recruiting more and more Worthologists who are experts in their field, and scores of online communities are being created to enable collectors to share information,” Seippel said.

Seippel said that the company continues to recruit sales and technology professionals and writers to keep content on the Web site fresh and compelling. “We have people working for us in the United States, Argentina, the Philippines and China, and a growing percentage of the traffic on our Web site comes from outside the U.S.”
