Baseball Collectibles And Fun: DHL All-Star FanFest (7/19/08)
 I’m not someone who follows baseball religiously or follows a season with bated breath. But I’ve always had a love of the game, its sincere players, rascals, larger-than-life stories and its culture of creating history through attractive collectibles and rediscovering history through antiques. Recent news saw a record for Impressionist art, a Las Vegas collectibles convention on the heels of the sale of a $1 casino chip for $29,000, a life preserver from the Titanic selling for $68,500 and soaring prices for midcentury furniture. Gear belonging to Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth and Jackie Robinson will be auctioned at Yankee Stadium, and the U.S.

At the 2008 Whitman Coin and Currency Convention (6/11/08)
 Gold and silver, platinum and kids. The 36th Annual Coin and Currency Convention in Baltimore, Maryland last weekend had quite a lot of all that, plus so much more. This is where you can both be a long time collector and still enjoy learning like a kid. That’s what I found out when I followed the kids to see Patti Jagger Finner at the Kid’s Korner.

Live Internet Auctions– A New Way To Attend Events (6/5/08)
 Live auctions via the Internet are an interesting phenomena for me, and I think that this procedure opens the door for improving sales at all auctions. Yes, there are auctions that are a must to attend, but the real world sometimes gets in the way which makes attending nearly impossible. So Internet auctions can help me take part in some important events that don’t fit my schedule.

Manassas Antique Market (5/26/08)
This past Saturday, May 24th, was the semi-annual Manassas Antique Market in the Harris Pavillion in Old Town Manassas, Virginia. The weather cooperated beautifully for this outdoor show. It was the first time that I had participated as a dealer in the show – and what a success.
