This one-sheet movie poster was posted on the Markey(framed transparent weather resistant container) outside the movie theaters (nickelodeon) to entice the patrons to pay and see the feature. The poster had to have a powerful image, like this poster, with a brilliant cherry red printing and the shocking image of The Monster to persuade you to come into the theater. They made serials and sequences to bring patrons back and pay again for the next episode. If you had a nickle in your pocket, it was worth spending time to get away from the woes and hard times of the early 1900's. The one-sheet movie posters are art work of the times - a time capsule of the era..

That makes me sick. That amount could pay off my student loans 6 times. I bet they wouldn't give $700,000 to help pay off six college students loans.
