A Top of the Range vintage late 1940s Montblanc 144 Meisterstuck GREEN STRIATED celluloid fountain pen.
This is one of Montblanc's most highly prized and sought after vintage pens!!! This is an early example of this pen as evidenced by the fact
that it has a flat ebonite feed.
The 14 kt Montblanc nib has an oblique broad tip as indicated on the twisting know- it has '144' and 'OB' heat branded on the twisting knob.
The nib is absolutely glorious and hasjust about the most responsive flex you will find on any gold nib out t This 144 is a great, smooth writer with no skips or breaks! For me, nibs do not get much better than vintage 1930s/1940s Montblanc!
This pen is in Excellent condition with a new cork and, whilst it is certainly ready for daily use it is I suspect far more likely to find itself added to a display only fountain pen collection.
The celluloid used for this pen is surely one of the prettiest patterns of the fountain pen world. See the depth of colour of the green and silver swirls
in the original photographs I have posted. The celuloid is also of a thick, dense quality and is not prone to cracking or chipping as is common
among lesser vintage celluloid pens. The celluloid used has a warm feel to the touch and because of the aluminium piston fill mechanism these pens have a nice heavy weight to them - you can quite literally 'feel' the quality of these pens.
Absolutely no cracks, hairlines or personalised engravings on this beautiful pen. Bid in confidence - this is a top quality collector's item!!!
