A superb and extremely scarce vintage DOM fountain pen from Germany. DOM were a small German affair from the town of Cologne concerned in the manufacture of fountain pens. More widely known local manufactuers such as Soennecken located in nearby Bonn crowded out the likes of DOM, who wre forced to finally close shop by the end of WW2. This DOM sports a most handsome, quality candy striped celluloid cap and barrel in deep green and black. The celluloid is glossy and bright throughout with no signs of aging, wear or tear. This pen is in super condition overall. The original steel DOM nib has a fine point. This is a very rare thing to find as the few DOM pens I have seen previously have replacement nibs. T are some signs of wear to the nib and to the tear drop pocket clip an cap ring, but not anything out of the ordinary. A nice feature of this pen are the tell-tale signs of hand finishing at the factory. Note for example the breather holes in the cap have been hand pierced using a heated needle. This is a rare button fill pen and all it needs to be running again is an ink sac. I have tested it and it works perfectly so will be a user pen when an ink sac is fitted. No cracks or hairlines or engravings etc. The only signs of use are some signs of wear to the pocket clip, cap ring and the nib. The celluloid itself is near perfect and
