This is a hand guard for a Daito or a long Wakizashi. On the iron ground the moon and plum tree and a letter are designed. For each part, a different inlay technique is applied: for the moon/ silver nunome inlay; for plum tree/an alloy of copper and gold & gold inlay; for the letter/ Takabori-carving and gold & silver inlay. On the letter, fine letters are chiseled in kebori-carving. This is a beautiful Tsuba with refined work. Due to a long lapse of the time, some parts are worn out and the inlay is faded. Please understand and consider this condition when you a bidding.
