You are bidding on a beautiful 1/6 plate daguerreotype of a young boy. He has such poise and he is elegantly dressed in his Sunday best. He has a rich halo of tarnish around the frame. It doesn't detract from this image. The mat is flawless, except for two very tiny specks of black. The pillow is a rich color of violet. The case is in excellent condition, perhaps a little tightening on the hinges, but not necessary. It closes well. Overall condition: Excellent This case measures: 3 ½ X 3 3/4 This case is in the Nineteenth Century Photographic Cases and Wall Frames Book, by Paul K. Berg.
