This is an heirloom quality model of the clipper "Cutty Sark". Built of approximately 70%wood, 22%copper, 3%brass, .1%gold, 4% cotton-silk, .2% iron and .3%plastic She is 1/75 scale or 44 inches long, 15 inches wide with full studding sails unfurled, and 31 inches high. This hand built model of the Tea Clipper "Cutty Sark" was laid from the keel plates up with the finest genuine materials, many that were used in the original ship. I happened to travel to Greenwich England on business, w the real-life clipper is moored, and took hundreds of photos of the genuine ship for as much authenticity as possible. This model is number 1 of possibly 1 or 2 for public distribution. I began work on her in 1993 for my own collection, but work on my career kept my work on her to about 5 to 10 hours per month. She finished about 6 months ago and my selling her is of strictly personal reasons. I have left the rigging just short of finished so that the new owner could select how she will be permanently rigged. Everything about her is in Bristol fashion of the finest craftsmanship, any collector has seen. I have seen models of her type of far lesser craftsmanship, which still looked very nice and fetched over $5000 in fine nautical shops in Seattle , San Diego and San Francisco .
