You are bidding on a nice old advertising Stoneware jug from 1919, it is one gallon in size and on the top shoulder is stamped with the potters mark Pearson & Co #2 Whittington Moor. This salt glazed jug is beige on the bottom with a carmel colored top, the advertising on the front is in black ink and was applied with a giant stamp. It reads HEY BROTHERS OLD CHURCH BOTANICAL BREWERY PONTEFRACT 1919, on the top shoulder it says TO BUY, OR SELL OR MAKE USE OF THIS BOTTLE IS ILLEGAL. AND MUST BE RETURNED WHEN EMPTY. Even the screw top has advertising it says HEY BROS. PONTEFRACT, and still has the original rubber seal. The condition is great for it's age, no chips, no cracks, no repairs only the screw top has a few minor chips. This beautiful jug measures 11" tall x 5 1/2" wide and weights 6 lbs not including packaging. It has a strong applied handle, and was used to hold beer.
