Here we have what I believe to be a miniature live steam locomotive steam cylinder, with valve chest, two "d" valves, twin pistons, and four cylinder covers, all made in brass / bronze for perhaps a 3 1/2 inch gauge or 5 inch gauge locomotive. The cylinder appears to have been machined to a good standard, all ports etc drilled. Although originally inteded for use on a railway locomotive this could easily be used on a scratch build project for a stationary steam engine or traction engine The total length is 2 1/2 inches long at the widest point.
