10` (25 cm.) Attached to a wooden stick handle designed for child to push along is a simplistic metal rod arrangement that is, in turn, attached to a bisque-head doll with blue glass enamel eyes, painted facial features, closed mouth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, wooden block torso, hinged wooden arms and legs. The doll wears his original brown velvet country suit and carries a miniature tin container and a butterfly net. When the handle is pushed the boy `walks` along and moves arm up and down as though catching butterflies. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 907 #2. Comments: doll by Alt, Beck and Gottschalk, circa 1885. Value Points: rare early and charming toy enhanced by beautiful and rare facial model.
