Johnson Brothers, England “Friendly Village” 10.75" HAYFIELD Dinner Plate O ffered for auction: A gorgeous (and I believe older) dinner plate from Johnson Brothers (England mark) dinnerware in the " Friendly Village " series with the design for " TheHayfield ." This plate is richly colored and has a beautiful design. Depending on how you measure it (straight across or from the points of the gently scalloped rim), it is about 10-5/8 to 10.75 inches wide. It is in very good to excellent condition, with no flaws that I can find--no chips, cracks, flakes, or fleabites. There are extremely faint signs it was ever used. The plate has the older Johnson Bros. brown mark, which reads: "The Hayfield / The Friendly Village / Made in England / By / Johnson Bros / All decoration under the glaze permanent & acid resisting colors / A genuine hand engraving / Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. / Ironstone." This mailbox logo has no mention of microwave, detergent, or dish-washer safe, as some later Johnson Bros. pieces have. Terms, Conditions, and Shipping: 1.
