WHO WERE THE CELTS?

Per Greek texts, people referred to as the Celts began to appear in about 800 BC to 600 BC, and eventually established themselves in much of eastern and western Europe. In the centuries prior to the 1st century BC, the Celts became the most feared of all the “barbarian” peoples outside of the Greek and Roman civilizations.

The Celts possessed a vibrant culture and impressed the Greeks & Romans with their bold dress and powerful appearance. Celtic women wore intricate braiding style for their hair and wore colorful dresses. The Celtic men spiked their hair, bleached it to a white color, and wore long beards.

The Celts had a very unique style in their battles. Before battle, they would make terrible noises by clashing weapons & shields, singing, and blowing horns. WHAT IS CELTIC RING MONEY?

Celtic rings were used as currency in Celtic lands prior to the introduction of the first struck coinage. Some archaeologists also have proposed that these rings could have also been used for harnesses, jewelry, clothing decorations, religious rites, etc. Many of these Celtic rings are still found in excavated settlements and encampments in Eastern Europe and date from the 5th to the 1st century BC. These bronze rings ‘proto money’ are referred to in Julius Caesar’s ‘a Brittania’.

These Celtic rings have not been cleaned, are dusty & dirty, and are just as they have been dug.

Celtic Ring Money offers an inexpensive way to relate to the ancient Celtic past… with the mysticism and spiritual connections. They can be used for jewelry, pendants, charms, finger rings, strung on necklaces, etc. Or can simply be displayed as a personal link to ancient Celtic history.
