$10 Series of 1861 Confederate States of America ( T30 -Criswell 239-241: No engravers name) Gen Marion's "Sweet Potato Dinner",R.M.T. Hunter and Minervva.Description: Obverse:When held up to light, a few scattered pinholes are visible on the left and right sides of the note but mainly along old fold lines; several of these became enlarged. All vertical and horizontal folds are very low relief with no paper separation or scuffing. Note face is very clear and clean without blemishes, staining or discoloration features. Serial number, in red ink , is still readable with well defined numbers. All four corners are sharp, complete with all sides straight lacking push-ins or indentation features indicating short circulation . All portraits and scenes show good inner line detail producing a 3-d appearance. This is very apparent in the Minerva statue with fine details standing out distinctively. All explanations, numbering, titles, scrolling , dates, lettering and signatures are complete, detailed and show good sharpness and clarity. When the note is held parallel to the surface, it still retains a high degree of firmness to the touch with no tearing evident. Reverse: Plain brown back with no signatures, features or stamps.
