ZANE GREY: 10 Titles, Matched set, Nice Books From Scarce WJB BLACK 75 Title Set, HB, With Dust Jacket or Two, With Frontis Portrait of Zane Grey with Facsimile Signature, Would Make a Great Gift or a Great Beginning Collection. Top page edges are a nice dark blue. Clean ¼ bound cloth cover is a nice bright beige and red. Beige is still a light color. Would look very good on your shelf. Most c orners sharp as new. Books stand straight, tall and square. Most all have nice title boxs which are near mint. The gold gilded title is as bright as new on most titles. Inside cover areas and crisp pages still a very light color. Seem to be unread. Several have covers which snap back if you start to open them. Most books have corners with no whiteness, or wear. No noticeable shelf wear. Spines are straight and tight. Most do have light foxing (little brown spots from aging) on the page edges. No damage, labels, or marks, unless mentioned. They are nearly a matched set. Provenance (source): The Demers Estate, Holliston, Mass. KNIGHTS OF THE RANGE THE LOST WAGON TRAIN MAJESTY'S RANCHO MAN OF THE FOREST RAIDERS OF SPANISH PEAKS (blue dot on beige, hardly noticable) (some page edges rough cut from the binding process) ROUGUE RIVER FEUD SHEPHERD OF GUADALOUPE (small bump lower back corner) (dot inside front cover) TO THE LAST MAN (spots on red & beige if held at an angle to bright light) THE U. P. TRAIL (spine is flat while most are curved). (one tiny spot, low on page edges) WILDFIRE (hidden under the front cover is a frontis/photo of Zane Grey) DUST JACKETS: Original glassine/onion skin dust jacket with two titles. Jackets are fragile, worn, and may show wear and tear. Might have a hole or two. They show t age. FRONTIS: Tipped in frontis/photo inside front cover area of Wildfire. Black and white photo on paper. Zane Grey portrait with facsimile signature, circa 1922. The young Zane Grey looking quite dignified in proper suit and tie. Boldly signed facsimile signature is clear, distinct and prominent. A nice portrait of the Western author, sportsman, angler, and world traveler. PHOTO: Portrait of Zane Grey in thoughtful contemplation, in dark suit and tie. Perhaps he is pondering a future western novel. Photo is protected in a plastic sleeve. About 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches, just right for a great book mark. (Zane Grey might roll over in his grave if you use his picture for a book mark). Actually you may want to have the photo framed. BONUS BOOK: Your choice of one extra book from the Walter J. Black series # 1-60, if available. The bonus book may be of lesser quality than the 10 set.
