For those of you that have been waiting for an Edison cylinder phonograph in museum quality ALL ORIGINAL condition here with no reserve is one of the most beautiful examples of an original 100 year old Edison cylinder phonograph you'll ever see. It's the MODEL "D" Standard which is the COMBINATION MODEL and as such plays both the 2 and 4 minute cylinder records. This obviously has been well taken care of and as you can see...it looks like new. The machine of course functions flawlessly and plays perfectly and comes with the H reproducer which plays the 4 minute cylinders...and it does so loud and clear. The tiger oak case is solid, in beautiful condition and with it's original finish. The bedplate has it's original black jappaned finish and still holds a high gloss with almost mirror finish which is hard to find on anything this old...and the original gold pinstriping is entirely intact...which is almost unheard of. The cygnet horn again is an original that has been professionally repainted with a spray gun...none of that paint can stuff....and there are no dents which after over 100 years is quite remarkable....it's really a nice one. The crane holding the horn is an exact quality reproduction. This will also come with 2 excellent Edison cylinder records so you can start enjoying this with friends and family right away. And if you've never played one of these before...first of all you're in for a treat...and secondly it's easy! Please note: in a few of the photos I noticed a small white circle or two...that's just from dust on my camera lens...sorry. Anyway I've taken plenty of pics so please see for yourself...I think you'll agree it's a wonderful example to be seriously considered by anyone or for any collection. And finally we have an excellent reputation on and off ebay for selling and servicing these antique phonographs so you can feel very comfortable placing bids here. I apologize for the shipping cost but this needs to be shipped in 2 seperate large parcels...one for the machine and one for the horn. It will be packed carefully and double boxed with no handling fees and shipping to the lower 48 will be $79...insurance as always...IS INCLUDED. And believe me...unless you live within 100 miles of me it actually will cost me more to ship than I am charging... of course pick up is always welcome. Thank you and please remember this is a NO RESERVE auction. Please note: NO OVERSEAS SHIPPING....it's just too expensive not to mention hazardous.
